Using material other than headliner material

Do i have to buy material with the foamed back for the headliner. Will it stay if i do not use that type material.

If you use a heavy material such as vinyl, it has a tendancy to fall after a short time because of the weight of the material. Headliner material is a very lightweight type of material and has the foam backing, which glues to anything very good. I would advise you, if you want the job to last a long time, use headliner material, or something equivalent. But you can use anything that you would like. We have used many things over the years for headliners.
