i have a sail boat (1980) Beneteau. In the cabin the side has a vinyl cloth covering. It was sagging and we finally took it out but there remains the glue and part of the rubber backing. We have tried all types of chemical cleaners to remove it from the fiberglass sides but no avail.

what can we use to strip off or clean so that the fiberglass sides can be painted?

thank you!
